Mitt Romney won the televised debate against Barack Obama?

USA. Republican candidate Mitt Romney won the first televised debate with President Barack Obama, polls and analysts say.

After facing 90-minute duel on taxes, the deficit and health care, polls gave Mr Romney a 46-67% margin, and Z. Obama 22-25%.

Commentators said that Mr. Romney appeared in command, while Obama was puzzled.

Mr. Obama has led the national polls and surveys in key states to be determined in the November 6 elections.

The BBC's Mark Mardell says that if the gap narrows or Mitt Romney starts moving forward Obama will be a big boost for his campaign, and suggests that he can win the White House.

However if they can barely move, Republican challenger will be in deep trouble, says editor from North America.

Just SSI theater, a battle of image and confidence, Mitt Romney was the clear winner. He had obviously practiced so hard and for so long as he was almost hoarse. Instead his voice was a touch deeper. No bad thing.

He saw Obama eye threaded with animation, core moderator and insisting on a comeback. He did not seem rude. He never looked in command.

President Obama on the other hand seemed like a lot more was off to celebrate his wedding anniversary with his wife. He began to be very nervous, swallow hard, interpret not sure, which dropped more points.

However, hopes are again for the Democrats.
