Super robbery in Rotterdam, looted painting masterpieces
This is one of the most spectacular robberies in recent years.
Some people have managed to break through an art gallery in Rotterdam in the Netherlands and taken from there seven piktu
ra known. Among them works by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, Lucian Freud and Meyer de Haan.
The total value of the stolen paintings is not known.
The event took place at around 2:00 or 3:00 am Tuesday.
Police say robbery was long planned. Alarm was put out and when officers entered the gallery, the robbers were gone.
Police say they are taking pictures of security cameras to see if they find evidence.
Art gallery in Rotterdam was built by architect Rem Koolhaas. It has not issued a collection, but every year organizes about 25 exhibitions.
For the moment it is displaying the most important works and most influential authors starting from the end of the 19th century until today.
The paintings were part of the Triton Foundation.
