A model has died after falling her balcony to another balcony 9 floors below, in a block of flats and luxury hotels.
Model Laura Pahomova from Latvia, fell from the balcony of Light Boutique Aparthotel in Manchester's northern quarter.
23-year-old was stopped 9 balconies below and was pronounced dead at the scene in Joiner Street. This apartment block was also a refuge for some of the delegates at the Labour Party Conference.
Police said they treated her death, at 11:30 on Sunday, as not suspicious.
Miss Pahomova moved to Blackburn, Lancashire, four years ago from Latvia.
Her friend, who asked not to be named, said: "Laura was my best friend. We are still trying to find out what happened, but police said she crashed accidentally.
Miss Pahomova had worked for several years as a model, with a broad portfolio of work for local photographers and large companies.
One eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "It was quite a disturbing scene. A large number of police cars blocked the road"
"The woman had suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital emergency arrived on the scene.
"Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances that led to the death of this woman, but it is not believed to be suspicious." Said a police spokesman.
